Children and Young Peoples Counselling
Today's children and young people are growing up in a complex, fast moving world with an often bewildering range of choices and pressures which they often feel unable to cope with. Common symptoms of childhood emotional stress are behavioral difficulties such as aggression, anxiety or withdrawal from previously enjoyed activities. Sometimes physical symptoms such as headaches or stomach pain can occur aswell as more serious psychological problems such as addiction and self harm.

Early intervention to improve children and young peoples emotional wellbeing is essential. Recent Government research found that 50% of lifetime mental illness starts before the age of 14,and that possibly half is avoidable with early intervention.(New Horizons)

Older children and teenagers also often benefit from using art to explore emotions in a way that is less challenging than more traditional counselling methods.
