I grew up in France and my original interest was in languages and literature. I studied linguistics for a few years then was led to a more direct experience of language through theatre and performing arts.
In 1987 I decided to move to Edinburgh and have remained in Britain ever since. In early 1990 I started becoming interested in more alternative lifestyles and did an evening course in complementary therapies. One evening a speaker came to introduce homeopathy and by the end of the presentation I had decided I would become a homeopath. I finally qualified in 1999 after 4 years training. It took another 4 years of supervised practice to become registered with the Society of Homeopaths. Since then I have practised in the Scarborough / Whitby area. I find that my interest in languages is very useful within the framework of homeopathic consultation where particular attention needs to be paid to the way a patient expresses his / her symptoms. Homeopathy is a constantly evolving therapy and I regularly attend seminars and study days to keep in touch with the latest developments. Other interests include dancing and walking and I feel privileged to live between the moors and the sea in a part of the world which is particularly beautiful. |
